Borealis: A Zen Game of Measured Motion and Planning
Borealis is a unique action game that requires measured motion and planning instead of swift action. The game is developed by Conrad Nelson and is available as a full version for Windows. The primary goal of the game is to avoid getting hit. However, you cannot fight back as you do not have any weapons. The game is composed of many environments, each with a unique style and set of missiles, as well as its sound profile. The procedurally-generated soundtrack is completely driven by what happens in the game.
In Borealis, you need to guide the incoming waves into each other through subtle and careful shifts. The violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, so it's better to guide your opponent into destroying itself. There are three different gameplay modes: Survival, Score run, and Endless. Each environment requires a different strategy, and produces more interesting types of missiles as you advance. The game is completely procedurally generated, with incredible replay value.
